Walking in Beauty

It has been an incredible week with Mother Nature.  And I embrace it all...the snow, the ice...the mud from the 72 degree day right in the middle of it all, and then back to another freezing rain, snow, ice to end this glorious week!  TGIF, that is for sure! 

This card from the Native Spirit deck by Denise Linn, fell out at me today as I was organizing my very messy desk and sitting down to tea.

This card speaks of the Native American tradition of very simply walking in beauty.  In the Navajo tradition it is called, "hozho naasha" and it means being in balance with a natural way of life!

How perfect! Because Mother Nature provides us with the perfect backdrop in order to tune in to the very spirit of the natural world around us on this great Earth.  And for me, I love it all.  Nothing is more spiritual and peaceful to me than to be out of doors in the softly falling snow, or a gentle rain knowing that these natural events are nurturing all that is LIFE!

So, on this day, tune into the beauty around you.  Take a look in the mirror and note the beauty of your very own self!  Create beauty around you...in your home, at work.  Spread beauty to everyone you meet along the way with a sweet and genuine smile and a very simple greeting of "HELLO".
It may just be the very spark that they need to get them through this BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Everything Belongs!

When you take the time and make the effort to just stop running willy nilly to and fro, you just may begin to realize that the Universe is having a conversation with you!  And that everything belongs!

Now I have passed by this barn a zillion times, always commenting on how much I love it.  And as the sun was going down on this particular journey, we pulled over just to take in the beauty.  Oh how I wish I could watercolor that sky!

As we sat there, watching the sun fade away, down over the ridge, I was completely and totally engulfed in this glorious moment capturing God's handiwork.  I couldn't even tell you how long we sat there.  I recall now, there was no talking between my husband and I, there were no words necessary.

There was also nothing else present...no lingering thoughts of where we were supposed to be, or where we had just come from, what we were doing, what we have to do next, not even noise from the cars, trucks, tractors that use this country road.  NOTHING!  AND IT WAS PERFECT!

WE JUST WERE! 

 

 COMPLETE AND TOTAL HARMONY!

And as the sun went down on this, my favorite barn setting, on our way to and fro, I smile with the knowledge that I am blessed.  And I am exactly where I belong!

 

Spirituality and the Desert Experience

When recently asked by a dear friend to participate in a book discussion, I was hesitant, because the book topic was spiritual in nature, and this is a topic that can be very personal.  Especially in regards to the practice of any type of organized religion.  And this particular community of "worshipers" I discovered, are mostly strangers to me. 

But not wanting to let my friend down, I agreed, knowing full well that with this book, Spirituality and the Desert Experience, by Charles Cummings, I would not be able to just sit idly by on the sidelines while others preached to me about what they believe it all means.  Especially from a religious standpoint.  The topic of spirituality is very near and very dear to my heart, as I have lived through a desert experience, or what I refer to as the "dark night of the soul" and have come out on the other side full of light, and much more wisdom about my own spirituality.  More importantly I realized that I had been fooling myself for a very, very long time. 

Deepak Chopra quotes,

"To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul.  To do this, you need to experience solitude, which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions."
 

And this is so true.  For when getting in touch with your soul, you are connected to the true life source that is within all of us.  Yes, we were all born with it as humans.  It is the BE-ing part of humans.  From the moment we take that first breath.  It is the part of each of us that is directly connected to God, Spirit, or whatever you choose to call your ONENESS with the almighty Creator of all things.

It is when we let the external forces of humanity define us, which society demonstrates in many ways as essential to our happiness, that darkness creeps in. We are somehow deemed unworthy, or not as good as others if we don't have this, or don't do that.  And this is exactly how we lose our way, because this plays to the ego, and the ego kicks in to demonstrate its ability to fight the true essence of our very be-ing, which is being overshadowed or buried by this negative force of energy being thrust upon us by those external forces.

We must go inward and tune into that life source that connects all things throughout the Universe. The mind babble that is incessant will dissipate if you realize that you are not what you do, or what you have.  If we can only get out of our way, inner peace will come to the surface, and you will be free.

For I am not to be defined as a wife and mother...that's just what I do along with the job that I absolutely love.  And I always express my gratitude for all of which, I, my ego self, must participate in with my human-ness in the material world on a daily basis.  No, as I go about my busy-ness of the daily routine, I have at my disposal,  my true essence, which shines bright and keeps me in tune with God.  And it is up to me to radiate this light, so that others who may not even realize that they are even in the desert, or darkness, can see my spark and tap into the same life force through me.

Seek and ye shall find, for the truth will truly set you free! 

Connectedness

Lately, I seem to be attracting people to me who are on the same spiritual path as I am.  And it seems to be an instant recognition that transpires allowing for a beautiful conversation of enlightenment to take place.

During these conversations it becomes obvious that we are tuned into the same spirit world, thus bringing forth those "aha" moments that others would chalk up to coincidence.  However, we know better.

Once the pathway is opened, and there is an awakened recipient out there, BAM, it happens, just like that...the wavelengths connect, and synchronicity makes its mark!  And it truly is a moment in time, to make you pause and soak up what the awakened soul has just brought to you.

The Universe is speaking to all of us...all the time!  WAKE UP AND TUNE IN!

Deep Breaths

As it is finally time to "Spring" forward and turn our clocks ahead for Daylight Savings Time, the excitement of going out of doors for my meditation brings me GREAT JOY!  Of course, there is still a mountain of snow and ice that must go through it's springy transformation and create a tremendous amount of mud before I can actually go out into the woods to sit peacefully. 

 Until then, I will listen to the birds sing their glorious songs, 

for they know what time of year it is!

 

And I will continue to practice gratitude to stay in tune with my authentic self.  Consciousness and the ability to "JUST BE"  is the blessing of life.  Every human being has the ability to live a life of true peace, and sheer joy...that is what Divine Love is all about.  We are all connected in the Universe and we were all created from the same source... The scientists and religious theologians, while they may have different viewpoints on the topics of creation and evolution, we must work together to achieve the peaceful existence that was intended for all of us for our time on this earth. 

The truth is, we are all born of the same life source.  WE ARE ONE!

Leaf Shadow

While wandering out and about after another snow dump, I came across this dangling maple leaf hanging on for dear life with the help of a friendly spider web.  It made me pause to think of the beautiful autumn that gave in to old man winter, which is providing yet more beauty for those of us who love to partake in the conversations out of doors with the universe.  

Now this snowy oak leaf, is quite strong in her own right, for as the torrential rains and high winds that always come through just when the autumnal colors have met their glorious peak, she held steadfast for the duration of her glory on the mighty oak branch...yes, a true cling-on, because we have had some nasty ice and snow here in the northeast. She is in tune with her high self!

And she has quite the vantage point from where she clings.  She knows where all the acorns are stashed, too.  The chipmunks and squirrels take no notice of her as she watches them skitter here and there making tracks in the snow as they keep busy with their winter meanderings.

Old man winter is here for now...we must be grateful for this day regardless of the weather.  It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!  Tune in...the universe is having a convo with all of us!  We are connected...and it's simply divine!!!

Let it be...

Don't look back...you're not going that way!

As 2013 draws to a close, there is time for reflection on what has transpired over the past 12 months.  In my life, there has been great joy, there has been turmoil, struggles and even tears of loss and pain.

  

But what I find amongst the multitude of thoughts and emotions as I look back over this past year, is the most incredible and profound beauty of inner peace that provides me with great love in abundance.  The simple and most perfect JOY of all!!!  LOVE, plain and simple and utterly perfect.

The peace that comes from within when you have achieved a higher consciousness is so vivid that it actually transforms your very own appearance, as though it seeps out through your pores.  It portrays an illumined spirit which others can actually see when they look closely at you.  The image or personality that your body temple projects in the material side of life is greatly enhanced by the discovery of your soul.  Soul awareness provides the opportunity to live in Heaven On Earth!  And that my friends, is truly the meaning of Life!!!

Many people seek happiness by looking externally to others and believe they must obtain certain objects or things to make them feel whole or complete.  True happiness can only be established when the Kingdom of Heaven is realized.  And it is not when your body dies...the time is now...here on earth.  And the location for that can be found in your very own heart which is connected to the soul.  When you allow your soul to awaken, you will be elevated quite rapidly to another realm of existence.  There are no religious boundaries that contain the Kingdom of Heaven.  You already own it.  Look inside of yourself, for therein lies the truth.  And we all know that THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!
